
Melting meatball macaroni
This recipe has all the elements of comfort food: beef and pork meatballs with an oozing cheesy filling, a rich tomato sauce and pasta

Ingredients
- 300 g pork mince
- 400 g beef mince (with around 10% fat)
- ½ tsp fennel seeds
- ½ tsp chilli flakes
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 200 g taleggio or mozzarella, chopped into small chunks
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tsp tomato puree
- 50 ml red wine
- 2x 400 g cans chopped tomatoes
- 500 ml passata
- 3 bay leaves
- 2 tsp golden caster sugar
- 400 g macaroni or other pasta shape
- crusty bread, to serve (optional)
