Ingredients
- 8 large good-quality, herby pork sausages
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and freshly milled black pepper
- 175 g Puy lentils
- 1 large onion, chopped small
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 25 g butter
- 2 tbsp groundnut or other flavourless oil
- 400 g tinned chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
